Veterinary Nursing is a vocational career and one that is very rewarding.

What the job involves:
a qualified veterinary nurse is involved in a wide variety of tasks in the veterinary practice.
    work includes
  • monitoring anaesthesia
  • taking blood samples
  • processing blood samples
  • intensive nursing care
  • theatre duties
  • radiography
  • client care
  • reception duties
  • nurse clinics
  • dental hygiene
  • laboratory work
  • and lots more!

entry requirements

  • 17 years old or above
  • minimum requirement:
  • 5 GCSES C grade or above
  • - inc. English Language and 2 sciences
  • - and mathematics
  • OR
  • you have a comparable qualification of comparable or higher standard - at the discretion of the RCVS
  • you have to either be enrolled in a College Course (VNAC)
  • or employed full time at an approved Training Practice
  • OR

  • for the BSc Honours VN Degree
  • you need:
  • the minimum requirements as above +
  • At least 2 A Levels, BTEC National Diploma in a science subject
  • or Advanced GNVQs
