Veterinary Nursing is a vocational career and one
that is very rewarding.
What the job involves:
a qualified veterinary nurse is involved in a wide
variety of tasks in the veterinary practice.
work includes
- monitoring anaesthesia
- taking blood samples
- processing blood samples
- intensive nursing care
- theatre duties
- radiography
- client care
- reception duties
- nurse clinics
- dental hygiene
- laboratory work
- and lots more!
entry requirements
- 17 years old or above
- minimum requirement:
- 5 GCSES C grade or above
- - inc. English Language and 2 sciences
- - and mathematics
- OR
- you have a comparable qualification of comparable or higher standard - at the discretion of the RCVS
- you have to either be enrolled in a College Course (VNAC)
- or employed full time at an approved Training Practice
OR
- for the BSc Honours VN Degree
- you need:
- the minimum requirements as above +
- At least 2 A Levels, BTEC National Diploma in a science subject
- or Advanced GNVQs
