Adult cats
We recommend yearly booster vaccinations for adult cats.
This will include a general health check and gives you an opportunity to discuss any health issues you may have about your cat.
We routinely vaccinate against the following diseases:
Feline calicivirus, feline viral rhinotracheitis
(commonly called "cat flu")
Feline panleucopaenia.
Additional vaccinations
Feline leukaemia virus
Rabies - required for the pet travel scheme
Feline Leukamia Virus
The virus is most commonly spread by close contact e.g. licking and
grooming each other. It is also transferred from an infected queen
to her kittens while they are still in the womb.
The virus can cause Leukaemia, but more commonly can produce
tumours in various parts of the body. Symptoms will depend
on which part of the body is affected. The virus can
also suppress the cat's immune system, making it susceptible
to a variety of other infections.
Vaccinations are available, blood testing may required in certain
situations; we can advise you on this.
