Receptionists

Melanie Gibson
Melanie started at our practice working in the evenings after school. She then worked full time as a nursing assistant before leaving to have children. When she returned she decided to work part-time mainly as receptionist, she is the main person that looks after our clients insurance claims. She has a tortoise and is extremely knowledgeable in tortoise husbandry and care. She also has a dog called Ted, cats called Puzzle and Dora and a hamster called Lamps.



 

Jan Syrett BA(hons) Design
Jan spent four years at Glasgow Art School and obtained her degree in Textile design. She then worked as a designer before a “pre mid life crisis” sent her in the direction of the veterinary world. She has worked in two busy practices in Glasgow and has a particular flair for administration making her the ideal veterinary receptionist. She started with us in 2010 after 11 years at the Avenues Vets in Glasgow and is the newest member of our team. At home she lives with 7 boys – Alan her fiancé, 2 teenagers, 2 cats – Pepsi and Eddie and 2 guinea pigs – Colin and Justin.
