hydrotherapy
back to pets info
Hydrotherapy is a Complimentary therapy which involves
your dog swimming in a specially designed, indoor, heated pool.
The pool provides a safe weightless environment where your dog can
exercise without risk of further injury.
Does your dog suffer from:
- arthritis
- hip dysplasia
- muscle wastage
- joint related problems
- pain, swelling, stiffness
- cruciate ligament disease
alternatively:
- is your dog overweight
- do you find it difficult to exercise your dog effectively
- are you looking to increase your dogs muscle mass, tone and strength
Dogs may benefit from hydrotherapy after joint surgery or as part of a weight
reduction program. Older dogs with arthritis may enjoy hydrotherapy as a
gentler form of exercise.
Isla will check with your veterinary surgeon that your pet is a suitable
candidate for hydrotherapy and will take a full history from you at the
first appointment. We have more information at the practice or you could
contact the centre directly.
