Dental Clinics

you are here: home > nurse clinics > dental clinics

If you didn't brush your teeth every day you would rapidly end up with a whole list of dental problems. The same thing goes for your pet! Yes, its hard to believe but it makes sense - brushing your dog's (or cat's) teeth every day will help prevent gingivitis, periodontal disease and tooth loss.

We appreciate that its not always easy to do this - especially in cats! So we have dental clinics available for you to attend free of charge for advice on other ways to look after your pet's teeth. These are with one of our qualified veterinary nurses, who will carry out an inspection of your dog or cat's mouth.

You can also organise a dental check up for your rabbit. Rabbits suffer from other forms of tooth disease, usually because they are on the wrong sort of diet. Rabbits are hypsodontal, which means their teeth continue to grow throughout life. To keep the teeth in check, they need to be worn down at the same rate as they grow, so choosing a diet with appropriate roughage is essential.
